1. Why is dog desexing especially important in Con Dao?

In remote island areas such as Con Dao, access to veterinary services remains limited. For this reason, free dog desexing programmes play a particularly important role in supporting responsible animal care and long-term wellbeing.

2. Beyond desexing, ADI’s broader veterinary care efforts

Alongside the desexing surgeries, the ADI team worked tirelessly to deliver 40 health check-ups and preventive care services for pets across Con Dao.

These services included:

• General health examinations
• Vaccinations
• Parasite treatment and prevention

Together, these efforts made a meaningful contribution to improving the overall health and wellbeing of dogs on the island.

The Con Dao project further strengthens ADI’s mission to create practical, positive and lasting impact for animals, with a special focus on pets living in remote and underserved areas.
