Puppy’s owner was used to his regular enthusiasm for meals. So when he began intermittently refusing food and appeared lethargic, it was quite the puzzle. A visit to ADI uncovered the culprit: 𝗮 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗹𝗼𝗱𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵, 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗹. Post-operation, the puppy’s zest for dining has returned in full!

The clinical bit: Foreign objects like this aren’t always obvious on X-rays – you must look for telltale gas patterns suggesting an obstruction. In trickier cases, we employ BIPS (barium-impregnated spheres) to assess gut motility and reveal what’s hidden. Precision is paramount.
