Tick Fever – Is your dog protected?
Ticks live everywhere in Vietnam and Laos PDR and survive here all year round. ONE bite from ONE tick can cause TICK FEVER. Tick fever is named after a group of diseases (Ehrlichia, Babesia, Anaplasma) that are found together and destroy your dog’s blood cells.
Tick fever can kill.
Tick fever may not show any signs at all for a long time, and then when signs do show it can look like anything! Maybe your dog vomits, maybe he is weak, even his eyes may look bad. It can show suddenly and become worse in a matter of hours. Or it can take weeks for the disease to show signs.
We diagnose dogs with tick fever 3 x a week in our clinic here in Vientiane.
These dogs are usually ALREADY ON tick prevention products. These products DO NOT WORK.
